New Taxes Hurt, Aug 27th

Congress is considering hundreds of billions of dollars in new taxes and fees on the oil and natural gas industry.  Such taxes kill jobs, hinder economic growth and erode our energy security.  It's hard to imagine a more damaging course of action, particularly at this time.  The effect this will have on our struggling state and local economies could be devastating........

Deepwater Horizon Incident, Jun 17th

Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with those who are being impacted by the Deepwater Horizon incident.  We need to take appropriate steps to ensure this unfortunate incident does not jeopardize the future of energy security in America. Even with major developments expected in renewable energy, the government estimates that renewable fuels will supply about 14 percent of the nation’s energy needs by 2035.  Oil and natural gas will provide more than a third of our nation’s energy usage and 85 percent of our transportation needs........ 

 

 

EPA Deadline Looms: Threatening Local Arkansas Economies, May 17th

An end of May deadline is looming for EPA to decide if they are going to change ozone standards.  And although this may seem to be a minor regulatory change that benefits the public, in reality it is a potentially damaging economic setback to local communities with minor health benefits for the public.  Furthermore, most counties will be unable to comply with the new standards; threatening their ability to issue permits to allow businesses to develop new opportunities, or expand current enterprises that could bring new jobs to our state.

We are focused on legislation being considered by Congress that would have potentially devastating effects on Arkansas jobs and the economy.

I have accepted the position of State Chairman because I want to protect Arkansas jobs, see energy affordable for all of my fellow Arkansans, and I don't want to see unnecessary increases in the prices we pay at the pump!.....
